Substance abuse is a multifaceted disease that needs healing on many levels. People coming out of addiction are thoroughly depleted; emotionally, physically and spiritually. They are numbed and shut down. As they enter into abstinence they are overly stimulated, anxious and feeling unsafe within their bodies.
This course teaches through basic gentle postures, restorative movements ; stretches, supported postures, breathing techniques, self massage techniques, quieting practices and simple meditation. Through these modalities we aid in healing on a deep energetic level where habits, feelings and trauma remain trapped in the body. This course integrates and supports the 12 - step program model.
This course is for anyone interested in this holistic model of healing addictions and especially beneficial for psychotherapists, physical therapists, counselors as well as all practitioners of the healing arts.
THIS COURSE IS REGISTERED AND APPORVED BY THE NEW YORK STATE ALCHOCL & SUBSTANCE TRAINING UNIT. WHEN COMPLETED YOU ARE GRANTED A CERTIFICATE OF COMPLEATION FROM THE OASIS PROGRAM TAINING UNIT.
