It reduces stress hormones, lifts depression, reduces anxiety and strengthens the entire nervous system, bringing the whole person into balance and harmony. This modality is one of building health, strength and vigor from within. Yoga for recovery is good medicine that calls on the presence of your own healing capabilities. This therapeutic practice is an empathic healing art that is kind to you. It is sensitive to wherever you are in your physical and emotional health. Yoga for recovery will bring a transformation and restoration of your entire body, mind and spirit.
YOGA FOR RECOVERY is based on the fact that peace is our natural state and when that peace has been disturbed over a long period time we break down emotionally and physically. We feel empty, confused, scattered. This is a place that is fertile ground for the beginnings of illness, disease, emotional depression, separation and numbness of our spirits.
A typical YOGA FOR RECOVERY session includes gentle stretching, aligning and balancing techniques that everyone can do. It includes self massage and adjustment work. We work with props such as pillows, blankets and towels folded and draped, resting your bodies in opening relaxing positions while you tune in and expand your breath. We are in a peaceful safe state where we can truly lay down our burdens. While in these relaxing positions you are treated to healing meditations that bring a sense of calm, peace and restoration to your whole being. This is the place where consciousness and subconscious meet for healing to begin.
A private session of YOGA FOR RECOVERY includes talking through the issues we hold in our bodies and hearts. The combination of deep body relaxing, easy breathing techniques and Linda’s compassionate listening skills and shared meditation is a deeply therapeutic process that will revive and restore you.
